INFORMATION LETTER

Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak announces that, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, an international scientific-practical conference entitled “ISLAM IN THE DIGITAL SPACE: MANIFESTATIONS, PLATFORMS, AND OPPORTUNITIES” will be held on October 8, 2025. The conference is organized within the framework of the scientific grant project “Islam in the Digital Space (on the Example of Contemporary Kazakhstan)” (IRN “AP19680228”), funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Venue: Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak, 73 Al-Farabi Avenue, Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Working languages: Kazakh, Arabic, English, Russian.

Format: Offline and online.

Objective of the Conference

To discuss the role and influence of internet technologies in the Muslim environment of modern Kazakhstan, to assess their opportunities and challenges, to evaluate the level of digitalization of the activities of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, as well as to examine effective ways of providing religious education and promoting Islamic values in the virtual space.

  • Analyze the digitization of Islam in Kazakhstan, and the main directions, forms, and methods of religious engagement in virtual space
  • Discuss the influence of social media and new digital tools on Islamic practices, religious life, and Muslim communities in the digital age
  • Monetization of the activities of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan
  • Examine the role of modern technologies in shaping religious consciousness
  • Identify strategies for improving Islamic education through online platforms
  • Examine the impact of artificial intelligence on religious values in the context of globalization
  • Address issues of information security, countering religious extremism, combating disinformation, and developing reliable Islamic content
  • Explore contemporary methods and experiences of using the internet as an effective tool for the dissemination of Islamic values in Kazakhstan
  • Foster scientific and technological collaboration by promoting dialogue and exchange of experience among religious scholars, theologians, IT professionals, and media experts to develop new research directions

Reports that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted. Authors are responsible for the content of their reports. The Organizing Committee and the Editorial Board reserve the right to select and publish the articles submitted to the conference.

Structure of the Scientific Article
  • Abstract (150 words) in Kazakh, English, and the article’s language
  • Keywords: 5–8 words
  • Introduction: 200–250 words, including:
    • Justification for the choice of topic and the aim and objectives of the research
    • Research methodology
  • Main body: research results and analysis
  • Conclusion and list of references

The reference list in the social sciences and humanities must contain at least 15 items, and no less than 50% must be in English. If the list contains sources in Cyrillic, citations must be provided both in the original and in Latin transliteration.

Formatting Guidelines
  • Margins: Top – 2 cm; Bottom – 2 cm; Left – 3 cm; Right – 1.5 cm
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Line spacing: Single; Paragraph indent – 1 cm
  • Alignment: Justified; No headers or page numbering
  • Citation style: APA 7th edition
  • File name: First author’s full name
  • Length: 10–15 pages
